How I Use It
Haiku Deck was used for 1st graders and 5th graders. The children researched animals and each 1st grader contributed a sentence on animals for a class book. Children enjoyed the ease and naturalness to using Haiku Deck. They were ready to make a complete book on their own. The 5th graders zoomed through their biography projects and we able to manipulate key search terms if they did not originally find their desired pictures. While older level scholars did not have to focus on evaluating pictures for copyright purposes, they were all able to complete tech culminating projects and present them to the class. In the past, students had struggled as man do not have tech access at home or time was a factor at school. But with Haiku Deck, everyone meets success. Haiku Deck is a win-win situation and a must have for any school library, classroom or just for plain fun!
Haiku Deck is a VERY special app. It has the ability to transform and be all things to all users. For lower academy children, special ed or ELL students, Haiku Deck is very supportive and fairly simple to understand and use. More advanced and tech savvy students love the beautiful photo gallery, bold colors and wide variety of pictures for the vocabulary search items. In addition, Haiku Deck offers a good baseline by instilling confidence, tech fluency and magic. Ultimately, Haiku Deck prepares scholars for more complex presentation tools down the line.
