How I Use It
Groupmaker is pretty straightforward about what it does--it makes groups. Therefore I've used this app to make groups. Not a lot of oohs and aahs here, but there are some things to recommend. In the general sense, you can create randomized groups for the entire class of whichever size you want. In the larger sense, you can get fancy with it by adding attribute options to each student with factors such as gender and ethnicity. If you're wanting to create diverse groups, this is your app. What's more, there's another option to create a "miscellaneous" attribute for each student; I used it to rate how off-task the students can get. Students ranked "one" were calm; "two" were borderline depending on the group, and "three" was a chronic off-tasker. Then when you create your groups, you can try to spread out your talkers--very nice.
My Take
It's free and it helps me make groups, so I dig this app quite a bit. It's not going to change your life but it's very good at what it does and that's nice.
