How I Use It
I use this as an independent work piece on Fridays. It's a low key way to end the week and the kids really liked going on the website and completing the map of activities. The kids watched the introductory video and then followed the map to complete the activities. The videos were a little babyish for my more street wise kids but overall my kids enjoyed the characters, veideos, and independent work.
I really like this website. Grammar is such a dull topic that and the videos and characters make it more engaging. It was especially beneficial for my ELLs and IEP kids. They consistently scored 90% or higher on the quizzes attached to the lessons. I also like that it starts with the basic parts of speech but breaks it down into more complex ideas. Nouns, for example, include common, proper, concrete and abstract nouns. It also includes prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections.
