How I Use It
Grammar Jammers uses catchy songs with graphics to introduce what different grammatical topics are, such as nouns or adjectives. I find it useful to introduce the topic to students and follow up with additional examples. There is a quick check after each song but it only has a few questions for kids to try. While it's great for an introduction, it really doesn't provide much substance. I wish the kids would have had more questions to try or some other type of practice to do in the app.
I like the songs they use. They are catchy and the kids like them. I like the way the questions after the songs work. It would be better if there were more questions as well as practice areas that the kids could get more practice on each concept. In the app, you must listen to the song each time and then try the three questions. I wish there would be a specific area you could just go into and have questions to answer to try to improve your skills as the limited amount of practice in the quick check doesn't really give a good view of if the kids understand the concept or not. I would use this in a classroom to introduce with the videos but there's not much to offer after that.
