How I Use It
I use it to show solutions to specific genetics problems. That way kids can view not just the answer but also how I solved the problem. This is particularly useful when students are working at home and get stuck. I also leave these videos with a sub when I have to be out of the classroom. I liked that if I was away at a conference, I could quickly create one with just my iPad, and make it available for my students immediately.
Explain Everything is a quick way to create video tutorials for your students. Teachers can upload images or documents and record their verbal explanations as they add notes. The tool itself takes a little getting used to. I find my handwriting looks much worse on the screen than in reality, even using a stylus. There is also a little lag time between when you write and when it pops up on the screen. This makes videos move much more slowly than if you were explaining a particular concept in person.
