How I Use It
I use Evernote to have students take notes and have a place to keep their notes. I also used partner apps like "Skitch" to have students take visual notes (or to sketchnote) and it would save with their Evernote files. Our instructional coaches often used Evernote for observations and would send us the notes they took while in our class. It was great getting that feedback and they enjoyed it because they could take notes and add pictures while observing and then send the feedback immediately instead of waiting until they got back to their desk at the end of the day.
My Take
I enjoy using Evernote for my personal, professional, and for instructional use. My students enjoy using it as well. The interface is easy and very customizable. As a teaching strategy, I would caution to teach note-taking strategies with your students first. If you just tell them to take notes on Evernote, you will get varied success, but if you structure the students notes or have them create templates in Evernote, I found that their notes were very meaningful.
