How I Use It
I use Evernote on a personal and professional basis to keep notes, web clippings, resources for teaching, videos, recipes, etc. I have students use Evernote to store resources for research projects and activities, as well as personal resources they'd like to keep. I have read several examples of teachers using Evernote as a note-card file for research papers. (Think 3 x 5 notecards without the cards!) Evernote is one of my favorite tools of all time.
My Take
Evernote is not a "game" but is engaging nonetheless. Evernote is a cloud-based notebook that can hold web pages, documents, videos, audio, photos--whatever you can save, it can keep. "Notes" as they are called can be categorized in folders and/or tagged. They can be easily searched as well. A generous amount of storage is free and more can be purchased if needed. Evernote has apps for mobile devices, so your files and notes can be easily accessed anywhere. There are multiple guides and help resources available at the Evernote website as well as blog sites and forums.
