How I Use It
I use Educreations in my middle school math classroom a few different ways. I originally started using it to create instructional videos for the students to use when they're at home working on homework or studying for assessments. I saw a significant improvement in the understanding of math concepts and in grades in the students who used the videos. As I continued to use Educreations, I realized I could use it as a reassessment tool as well. I told my students that if they now understand a concept that they didn't previously, they could create an Educreations video where they teach me the concept. This allows me to gauge their understanding on a deeper level, and it doesn't require me to create a reassessment test or quiz. Overall, the students who used the video to create reassessment videos took away a deeper understanding of the math concepts and a better articulation of their math reasoning.
I used Educreations almost every day in my middle school math classroom. I helped me bridge the gap between school and home by being accessible to the students from home through my instructional videos. I also found even more uses for Educreations than I originally intended, extending it as a reassessment tool. The only thing I wish you could do with Educreations is export videos.
