How I Use It
In the classroom, this app can be used in a variety of ways, but it definitely adds to any geometry lesson. This app is helpful because it has two modes (Easy and Expert) to fit the abilities of different students. After students have time to experience and understand the app, they can be inventive to create their own animations using the various shapes. For the younger grade levels, this app would be a fun way to introduce students to shapes, shape movement, animation, and how different shapes can work together to make unique images. Upper elementary grade levels can use the expert mode to explain geometric translations, congruence, similarity, and other key vocabulary terms in geometry. Then they can use those terms to create an animation that showcases each of those terms.
Altogether, I think that is a simple to use app that allows for creativity to extend any geometry lesson. There are many choices of shapes, backgrounds, stencils, and other items that students can choose from to create their own animation. Each feature available is easy to use and students quickly learn how to use the app. This app is a great starter app for animation, and can be a catalyst for future projects involving other animation apps or even green screening apps. If possible, I think it would be helpful to add some more functionality to this app, such as audio recording, typing features, and being to draw or write. This would allow students to create projects and share their creations with other students.
