How I Use It

I would use this product for homework assignments, such as "complete up to the 'Travel 2' section," or for free time at the end of class. This product is engaging enough to keep students motivated to return to it, with its use of streaks, gems, and a store function, as well as progress bars.

My Take

The site is easy to navigate, and the activities are easy to complete (clicking words to place them in a sentence, or typing them out). With its rewards for completing Duolingo for x days in a row, and the ability to receive and spend gems, in addition to a streak, there are plenty of incentives for students to continuously be using Duolingo. This would be a great option for homework assignments or if students finish work early., but not for an in-class exercise. Students are able to practicing reading, speaking and listening on this app, and it serves as a fun game that helps students review.
