How I Use It
As I started this beta-testing a bit late in the school year, I have not had the time I would have liked to create specific lessons for the students as of yet. However, once I downloaded the app, I had the students try it out from my resource class, as well as students from the general setting. They all loved the avatars and were able to explore a great deal of the initial level within their class periods. My struggling students loved the connection they were able to make with the pre-algebra lessons they were learning. My general ed, students had fun and recognized the the same connections from their lessons. I will definitely explore all of the lessons this summer and download the other version to create lessons for my inclusion students to work on during their instruction.
I made this my first pick in selecting apps due to the great ratings and for the fact that we are currently working on basic algebra concepts with our special needs students. I found this app to be a great way to introduce the concept of isolating the variable, used throughout algebraic curricula.Students from my class, as well as those from the general ed. classroom took to it immediately and had tons of fun exploring all of the levels.
