How I Use It
This app is good for additional practice at critical thinking. Students can play this when they have free time. This is not meant to be used in lessons on any particular topic, but purely a time filler. When I have classroom tasks for students to complete, I sometimes will allow students who finish quickly to play with this app. I find that in a class that has many different skill levels, it is important to have activities, like this app, available for those high flying students who complete everything faster then the average student.
I don't think it is really a teaching tool. It is an activity students can do that promotes critical thinking, while having fun. The nice thing about this app is that students see it as a game and are willing to play it, but really they are strengthening their problem solving abilities. I like the simplicity of it and the ease of operating it. It would be nice if there were some suggested ways to use it in a lesson instead of outside a lesson.
