Teacher Review For Digital Passport

This product has been essential in teaching Digital Citizenship in my Technology Lab! The videos and games are relevant to my students and they really drive the point of the lesson home. The teacher module guides are perfect for designing instruction!

How I Use It
I used this product in my technology lab. I began with whole class instruction and use the "module guides." They were extremely helpful in directing my instruction. My students particularly loved the warm-ups. We watched the video as a whole class instead of individually. I found it beneficial to be able to discuss the video briefly with my students after viewing. We then launched into individual instruction. The website is very easy to use. The students went to their computers and began the game related to the lesson.
My Take
The videos were so well done! They really added a lot to further instruction! I think the games are really well suited for my students. I like how it provided feedback after each round. That was really important for me as I walked around and conferenced with individual students about their answer choices. I also like how teachers were able to see results immediately. I liked a lot of the additional challenges (the PDF print outs) for my early finishers, however, I used this in a tech lab so it would work better for me if those were online options. Perhaps students could fill in the worksheet online and then submit it or even print it. We really don't have a written work area in the lab. The only game I have critique for is Search Shark. My students were not engaged the whole time because there were too many rounds. I think less rounds might be better. Finally, I wish there was a way that students would have to repeat rounds and levels if they didn't reach a certain percentage. After exporting the grades, I was able to see their scores and some of them scored really low. Had I known right away, I would have made them repeat.
