How I Use It
The "word of the day" is going to become a daily feature in my creative writing and composition classrooms. My composition courses are game-based and the word games are perfect for showing how games can also be tools for learning and fun. The reference and thesaurus applications are also great for budding writers.
My Take
Dictionary.com is a great tool for engaging students in the wonderful world of words. Features like the "word of the day," a myriad of word games, including crossword puzzles, slide shows, as well as a thesaurus and a reference guide are only just a few of the ways students can use this site, individually and in groups, to increase their word power.
