How I Use It
I hardly ever use the negative points. I find it is much better to focus on positive points. All students in the class receive one point each day as long as they follow class rules. Students may then earn extra points by helping a classmate or the teacher. I have had great success using it in this positive manner. Another great feature is students can log on as themselves to check their progress and points, and their favorite part: change their avatar. I feel this product worked best for students in grades 1-3.
There are both positives and negatives about ClassDojo. The positive is that this will motivate students to follow class rules and behave appropriately in the classroom. However, when the number of points each student has is shared with the whole class, it can cause a negative experience for a student or a class.
