How I Use It
The only ways I've ever used it in the classroom was as a reward option or as a center. When using it as a center, students needed to review the list of possible words they missed, and add unfamiliar word to their word "wall" notebook. Then, they used a dictionary (either online or in hard copy) to discover the meaning and use of this word. Homework that night, was to go on a hunt for that word in places in print or media. It always amazed me what examples students brought in the next day.
I've played this game for years, and while I love the game, I fear that it does not have a lot application for the regular school day. My third graders could play this, but my sixth graders get much more out of it.
