How I Use It
I have used Book Creator to engage all learners in my Infants Classroom, even those with low literacy levels. Book Creator has accessibility tools like voice-to-text that enable students to create and demonstrate their learning (as well as supported by visuals) no matter what their ability level. We recently used it within our classroom for students to demonstrate their learning about Australian Environments. Some students used voice recordings, voice-to-text, drawings and writing to demonstrate what they had learnt.
I believe Book Creator is an incredible tool to make learning accessible to all students, and to promote meaningful and authentic learning. Students of various abilities can work on book creator and demonstrate what they have learnt through the range of accessibility tools available. Book Creator also enables students to create for an authentic audience, as they have the opportunity to share their books with parents, community stakeholders, or more broadly across the globe. When students have an authentic audience to write for, they understand the purpose of writing and engage more deeply with the process and the content.
