How I Use It
I started using Book Creator about 3 years ago when I was still in the classroom ( I am now a Technology Instructional Coach) during a unit on the American Revolution. I was looking for more creative ways to have my students present the topic that they researched using technology and after coming across Book Creator, I quickly realized how easy it was for them to navigate the features. I loved the choice it gave them; anything from the book style they wanted to present out to adding audio to a page. I found that students were more excited to work on their research projects, so I the increased engagement was definitely a win as a teacher and I was impressed with the books they created. The content was meaningful and it showed a clear understanding of their topic, which was great! If I had to pick what I love about Book Creator the most I would say that it can be embedded into the curriculum in any subject area and can be used at any grade level, PreK-Grade 12. Currently, I only have access to the free version, so I am unable to use the collaboration feature that comes with the paid version. I think the upgrade would be worth it for that alone.
My Take
I highly recommend Book Creator as a creative tool for students to present out their learning. As teachers, we are always looking to gibe our students choice in how they show us understanding of content. Book Creator gives them many options. The features are also easy to use for even the youngest learner. I particularly love the Google Image Search within it. These images are labeled for reuse and are the safest images allowed by Google.
