How I Use It
Students using Book Creator are motivated, engaged and excited to work on an iPad. The ease with which students can write, dictate, and edit their books has turned students into writers who can express their thoughts and creativity. I have seen many students who don't enjoy pencil and paper writing become enthusiastic authors. Teachers are also excited by the ease with which students can share and publish their work. I want to be a Book Creator Ambassador because it is an essential app everyone should know how to use and it builds foundational digital skills that students and teachers need. I am passionate about helping teachers discover how Book Creator can be used in all areas of the curriculum. It depends on the level to which teachers deeply dive into curriculum as to how much knowledge students gain using this app.
My Take
Book Creator is an essential teaching tool. It builds digital skills that can transfer to other apps. The only thing that is difficult for kids to use is the picture resizing method. Students are typically used to pinching to zoom and two finger tapping to reposition, and this app uses blue dots at the corner for these actions. Typically, this is the feature that frustrates students the most when they are using the app on an iPad.
