How I Use It
I used this for students to create books/presentations over what they learned in my math units. They took pictures of problems they worked out, made videos of themselves going over lessons, and created real life problems of how the content would be used.
My Take
I think that Book Creator gives students the opportunity to display highest level of learning, creation. Also, if we look at the trends in video games, the most 2 popular video games of the last 10 years are Mindcraft and Fortnite. The common thread in both of these games is an open platform to roam and do as you wish and creation. Thus, we can deduce that students like to create. Therefore, if students display the highest level of learning at the creation phases and enjoy creating we have to find a way to incorporate it into our classroom. The main rebuttals that educators have about allowing students to create in the classroom is that it is messy and they do not have the time to allow students to do so. Book Creator is not messy and easy to use, saving teachers time. My goal is to teach teachers how to take some of the same lessons they are already teaching and transforming them into engaging creation stations using Book Creator. Last, I believe this can transform teachers classrooms.
