How I Use It
I have used Book Creator with students from Kindergarten to Grade 11. We've created Science books, Math Journals, French fairy tales, English fractured fairy tales and rhyming books. I do find using the iPad app easier, especially with younger students, as it is more intuitive and they pick up very quickly. In general, I have had students working either individually or in small groups but I have created a number of whole class books, which the kids love to look back on!
My Take
My overall opinion of BookCreator is that it is an awesome tool! I like the fact that it is very creative and allows students to show their learning in a way that suits them, in terms of colour, design, etc. I love the fact that even very young students are able to produce something professional looking and I really like the fact that I can use it equally powerfully with gifted students as I can with students who struggle. My only critique is that it is not always easy to share with parents in a way that works for us. Minor issue though, as we always find work-arounds!
