How I Use It
I used Book Creator to help add another form of reading/ engagement in books for my severe special ed students. I wanted students who were limited physically to be able to have a digital platform they could read/create on. My students were also Deaf so I would create the book, film myself signing, and then add it to the book so the students could click on the video of me signing and have the book read to them.
Book Creator is such a fantastic teaching tool for all levels. It allows students and teachers to be creative and create material how they want and easy sharing/ collaborating with others. Working in special education I am always looking for accessible materials and Book Creator provides so many opportunities for those who are physically limited (via a switch accessible iPad apps or the online version as well) and for those students who may not be readers there is an easy way to add audio (controlled with clicking) and videos too. There are so many options to engage students and I cant imagine not having it! It is a little more challenging to get used to for the younger students or severe special ed because the buttons to edit don't have words next to them, but it can still be done!
