How I Use It
I have used Book Creator as a reflection tool where students can reflect on various concepts throughout the day/week. They can add videos or text explaining concepts they understood or mistakes they made. They can return to these reflections and add to them throughout the week. I have also used Book Creator as a collaborative tool where students create math story problems together and solve them together. In addition we have used Book Creator to write stories and books.
I absolutely love that students can add video, text, hyperlinks, etc. to pages. For my students that struggle to communicate with text they always have the option to add their voice. I really loved using Book Creator as a reflection tool this year and plan to tweak it even more this school year with students using it on a more regular basis. I will start out slower with them and guide them better at first. The collaborative piece is wonderful as well. From the teacher perspective, I still need to figure out a way to make this more productive as the first time we did it, there was a bit of chaos. I will use it again since it is such a valuable piece. I may stick to just 2-3 students collaborating on a book rather than a whole class collaborating on various pages.
