How I Use It
I use Bloomz every single day in my classroom to keep my parents updated about what we do every day. I write a short post and upload some pictures from the day describing what we learned and did. In addition, I use the behavior feature to keep track of all of my students positive behaviors and areas where they need support. This makes it easy to communicate their successes and challenges to parents and keep them up to date with how their child is doing in class. I also use Bloomz any time we do classwork or projects that are not being sent home. I upload the work to the students' profiles so parents can see what they did and there is a growing profile for each student of their year in class. I find Bloomz really useful for posting announcements and reminders (ex: Don't forget to send back your child's library book tomorrow so they can check out a new one!), requesting supplies, Mystery Readers or classroom volunteers. Scheduling parent-teacher conferences also could not be easier with their built in scheduler and ability to download the schedule. Finally, one of the most useful features is the ability to communicate with parents using the messenger. It is so easy to quickly ask a parent a question or for parents to check in with me about anything they don't understand or want to let me know. Everything in the app works fantastically, it's all in one place and it just keeps getting better with time and new updates! Could not recommend this app enough.
Bloomz is a MUST-USE for any teacher or the leader of any organization! It keeps everything all in one place and makes communicating with parents, tracking behavior, scheduling conferences/volunteers/events, requesting supplies, building student portfolios and sharing pictures/videos/documents so EASY! There were some glitches in the app in the past but with recent updates the app just continues to get better and easier to use. Support is also so responsive to suggestions and help requests. I am a 100% believer in Bloomz and can't imagine my classroom without it now!
