How I Use It
I used Aurasma with my Fifth Grade Technology Students to a Final Graduation Project. This app allows users to have their pictures"come to life" The students wrote a memoir of their memories and attached their graduations pictures to the document. When the picture was scanned, a video appeared of the child vocalizing their sentiments. This app addressed Literacy Speaking and Technology Skills.
This augmented reality app has such great potential. When it works, it is a fantastic way to present and produce authentic pieces of work. It fosters collaboration. However, this app need some setting up time, and it sis;t always work. Some children's video did not scan so easily leading to a lot o frustration. It is probably best used in smaller classes or groups.
