How I Use It
I have used this with a grade 4 forces and motion unit. Small groups (2 or 3) plot out their approaches to solve the puzzles presented. Their explanations as to how the ball moved were assessed (not their actual achievement of getting the ball into the basket or not.) These explanations allowed students to demonstrate understanding and application of concepts such as friction, force, potential and kinetic energy... Super engaging for all learners though some will dominate in their group and loose sight of making thoughtful explanations.
My Take
This app allows quick and engaging application of basic forces and motions concepts. Structure is required though to ensure that students are learning as much as they can and not just relying on trial and error.
