How I Use It
I have used this tool as a part of a project where students created a story on paper, and through storyboarding. After this part of the assignment was complete, the students then transferred their storyboards and content into Toontastic. While acting out parts, their were some issues with characters not moving when students would try to drag the characters, which in turn caused the students to start a scene over.
I love using this tool as much as the students. The ability to create a cartoon from scratch using characters already created for them, or the ability to create custom assets within the app make this a very valuable learning tool. This tool easily falls into the modification level of the SAMR model as it combine audio, video (in a cartoony format), and text notes within the presentation. I have used the paid version, and the sheer number of available characters are daunting and they should have a character to fit almost any story created... If not, the students can create their own using the tools provided!
