How I Use It
I downloaded this app to check it out--man, was I surprised!! The equation patterns are difficult at first and, with the time running, you find yourself in a frenzy to finish each problem. Once I got used to the intensity required, I was able to do the math more simply. In a classroom setting, I would use this app almost as a reward for finishing the lesson early because there are only a few operations it can perform (multiplication, addition an subtraction, although it also uses positive and negative numbers). It is set up in a tournament style, so students can first practice with the device, and then race each other to complete the problem.
I would not consider this app a teaching tool because, for the speed required of it, the knowledge already has to be embedded with the user--it is a math game that tests knowledge, not one that teaches. However, I would gladly use it as a way to review concepts previous covered inside of the classroom.
